How I tested it: I typed a structured prompt directly into Claude Design. The prompt described:
the research brief

The prompt was the only input. I did not upload any documents. I then exported the output in PPTX and checked it in PowerPoint.
The structural output was the strongest in the test for prompt-only input. Claude Design read the brief accurately, organised the slides logically, and applied consistent formatting across all ten slides. The methodology slide was particularly clean. Where it needed work was visual finish: the output is structured and coherent, not design-polished. The PPTX export was fully editable, which is more than what NotebookLM delivered.

Thus, observations about this tool reflect what consistent user feedback says it delivers and what I believe the tool is built to deliver.
Beautiful.ai sits between a manual slide editor and a fully AI-generative tool. Its Smart Slides system auto-aligns layouts as content changes: add a bullet point and spacing recalibrates, add an image and text reflows. It is smarter than PowerPoint but less autonomous than Gamma at the content generation stage.
